This is a combination of two poems, so it sort of is like A Day In The Life by the Beatles.
This is... Heart Doesn't Beat, It Flutters Indeterminately (Reader's Emphasis Their Own)
Heart Doesn't Beat, It Flutters Indeterminately
My heart doesn't beat, it flutters indeterminately.
My heart was broke, you see, utterly.
It took the parts of seven hearts to repair it.
To the state it is now in, inside me.
Like a map without a cross, or drug without prescription
I'm a messiah without a crucifix transfixion.
You wrote the book on me. Gave me a spirit written translation.
An origin story with the last page ripped out.
And I am having to be my own resurrection. Piece by piece.
[Swirling segueing energy]
Reader's Emphasis Their Own
This is for you.
This is for you.
This is for you.
This is for you.
For the Sparrow.
Lay sticks you picked up from the wood.
This is for you.
This is for you.
This is for you.
This is for you.
For the marrow.
Break bones you picked up from the wood.
This is for you.
This is for you.
This is for you.
This is for you.
